The Art of Upholstery
Traditional Upholstery involves using materials such as horsehair, burlap, and twine to create a sturdy foundation for furniture. Further, cotton batting is added to the foundation, and the fabric is secured with tacks or staples. As a master upholsterer, I have learned the classical skills necessary to create museum-quality pieces.
Upholsterers can use either foam or natural fibers to upholster seats. While foam lasts for 15 years, natural fibers can last for up to 35 years but require more work. Prices may vary depending on the method used to ensure longevity.
